                      RICEMAN INSURANCE INVESTMENTS PLC

                         UNAUDITED INTERIM STATEMENT

                 FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30TH SEPTEMBER 2001

As shareholders will be aware, the Company completed the disposal of its sole
operating subsidiary in March 2001. The attached unaudited results therefore
cover a period during which your Directors have been appraising possible
corporate transactions with the intention of developing the Company in a new
direction.

For the six month period ended 30th September 2001, your Company sustained a
pre-tax loss of #31,056.

Overheads continue to be incurred on a minimal basis, and cash balances at
30th September 2001 amounted to #255,754

Your Directors will write to shareholders as soon as any firm proposals can be
placed before them.
