        RICEMAN INSURANCE INVESTMENTS PLC ("Riceman" or the "Company")


Riceman announces that the Company has changed its accounting reference date
from 31 January to 31 March so that the audited accounts could reflect the
sale of all the Group's operating business which was completed on 15 March
2001. Accordingly, the next financial statements will cover the fourteen month
period to 31 March 2001. To comply with the AIM Rules, the Company will issue
a trading statement for the six month period to 31 January 2001 as soon as
practicable.
