Reed Health Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment to the board of
Daphne Statham CBE, as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Ms Statham is the Director of National Institute for Social Work.  With more
than 30 years of experience in social services, education and training, she will
provide guidance and support to Reed Health Group's growing social care
division.

Daphne Statham was awarded the Social Care Association Annual Award for
Contribution to Social Care in 1999 and was awarded the Commander of the British
Empire in recognition of services to the voluntary sector in 1994.  A visiting
Professor at Warwick University, she is also President of the National
Association of Councils of Voluntary Service.

Commenting on the appointment, Christa Echtle, Chief Executive of Reed Health
Group, said:  "Widely recognised for her work in implementing social policy for
the development of social work, Daphne's knowledge and expertise are second to
none.  I am delighted that someone of such standing has agreed to join the board
of Reed Health Group."
