Disclosure of Significant Shareholdings

Osmetech PLC ("Osmetech" or "the Company") (AIM:OMH) announces that it was notified on 11 December 2008 of the following changes in
shareholdings of ordinary 0.1p shares pursuant to the placing announced on 4 December:

1. Efficacy Capital Ltd has increased its shareholding in Osmetech from 34,620,000 to 125,822,641 shares, representing 28.29% of the
Company's issued share capital. The shareholding is held in two entities:
* Efficacy Biotech Master Fund which holds 122,852,641 shares representing 27.62% of Company's issued share capital.
* FMG Special Opportunity Fund which holds 2,970,000 shares representing 0.67% of Company's issued share capital.

2. Gartmore Investment Limited has increased its shareholding in Osmetech from 24,331,558 to 74,047,430 shares, representing 16.65%
of the Company's issued share capital.

3. Schroder Investment Management Limited's notifiable shareholding has decreased in Osmetech to 28,068,130 shares, representing
6.31% of the Company's issued share capital.

4. Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited has increased its shareholding in Osmetech from 14,150,000 to 20,990,198 shares,
representing 4.72% of the Company's issued share capital.

5. British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme has increased its shareholding in Osmetech to 15,748,424 shares, representing 3.54% of
the Company's issued share capital.

6. Mineworkers' Pension Scheme has increased its shareholding in Osmetech to 15,719,681 shares, representing 3.53% of the Company's
issued share capital.

7. UBS Investment Bank no longer has a notifiable shareholding in Osmetech

The total number of issued ordinary 0.1p shares is 444,803,637.
