Osmetech plc ("the Company") announces that pursuant to the exercise of
warrants, it has allotted today a further 2,500,000 Ordinary Shares of 1p each
in the Company to warrant holders at an exercise price of 2p per share.  Of
these, 1,500,000 Ordinary Shares are being issued to James White, Director. 
These shares rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued Ordinary
Shares in the Company. Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority
and the London Stock Exchange for the shares being issued to be admitted to
Listing and it is expected that dealings will commence on Wednesday 9 August
2000.
