Norwich Union plc as the ultimate holding company of the Norwich Union Group
of Companies that following the sale of 1,000,000 Ordinary Stock units on 6th
September 1999, the holding in Bank of Scotland by the Norwich Union Group of
Companies is now 36,398,443 Ordinary Stock units (which represents 2.93 per
cent of the Bank's issued Ordinary Stock).
