On 29 February 1999 in accordance with Section 198 of the Companies Act 1985
(as amended) Holidaybreak plc received notification from Norwich Union
Investment Management Limited whose registered office is 8 Surrey Street,
Norwich, NR1 3NG, that following an increase in the issued share capital of
Holidaybreak plc on 22 February 2000, the Norwich Union Group material
interest in Holidaybreak plc was as follows:

Norwich Union Life & Pensions B a/c                   2,352,532
Norwich Union Insurance Investment Ltd                  106,166
Norwich Union Pensions Management Ltd SC a/c            598,896

                                                      3,057,594

This holding represents 6.70% of the current issued share capital of
Holidaybreak plc of 45,619,642.

The interests are being disclosed on behalf of Norwich Union plc (as the
ultimate holding company of the Norwich Union Group of Companies) and the
other companies referred to in the above notice.
