Tempus Group PLC ("Tempus") has today received notification that, following the
purchase of 75,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in Tempus ("Tempus Shares") on 3
November 1999, the Norwich Union Group and Norwich Union plc had an interest in
2,678,665 Tempus Shares, representing 4.10% of the issued capital of Tempus.

The notification stated that the shares concerned are registered as follows:

Norwich Union Life & Pensions B A/c               853,665
Norwich Union Pensions Management Ltd A/c         912,500
Norwich Union Pensions Management Ltd No2 A/c     912,500
