NETWORK TECHNOLOGY THIRD QUARTER TRADING STATEMENT

Network Technology PLC, the network connectivity and software specialist,
today released a trading statement covering its third quarter ended 30 June
1998.

In the statement, Graham Woodhead, Chairman, says: "The third quarter is
traditionally the weakest for our Japanese printserver customers.  This year
this weakness has been more pronounced than usual.  As a result, the Directors
now believe that the results for the full year will be lower than current
market expectations.   I am, however, pleased to announce that we have made
our first sales of printservers in Brazil, a market which, in common with
other South American Countries, is opening up for us as a result of
privatisation programmes.  Our stronger emphasis on the North and South
American markets will help to compensate for some of the reduced orders from
Japan.

It is important to understand that our Japanese customers and their markets
have not collapsed as in some other industries but rather that orders are
being delayed and will turn up again as the Japanese economy recovers.

I am pleased to report that our product developments remain on track.  The new
data storage product was well received at the recent Networks Telecom '98
exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham and is currently on evaluation with a
number of blue chip customers.  The network software product,
PeripheralVision, is being evaluated by one of the world's largest PC
manufacturers, and by one of the large US printer manufacturers.  We are in
discussions with another Japanese printer manufacturer on plans to include our
Internet Printing Software in its products, and AB semicon will shortly be
launching a new product offering a significant competitive advantage.

Our balance sheet remains strong with net cash in excess of #3m."
