Ringdale Signs Exclusive LED Lighting Agreement in Japan

Agreement Accelerates Ringdale's LED Lighting Business in Japan

Austin, TX and Tokyo, May 25, 2010- Ringdale , Inc., a global leader in the
development of energy efficient, intelligent commercial LED lighting fixtures,
today announced the signing of an exclusive licensing, manufacturing and
distribution agreement for the region of Japan with Sojitz Systems Corp. The
Sojitz Corporation is a highly respected holding company with over $50 billion
in revenues and a very strong market position in Japan.
Sojitz manufactured lighting fixtures for streets, parking structures,
billboards, building exteriors, warehouses, offices, retail spaces, parks and
restaurants will be based on Ringdale's ActiveLED(TM) technology. The solid
state fixtures deliver better illumination and use 50-95% less energy than
conventional lighting sources such as incandescent, CFL, FL, HID, HPS and LED
bulb replacements.
"In our search for financially strong and technologically capable partners in
the major regions of the world we found Sojitz to be a very good match in terms
of access to the Japanese market and their ability to manufacture in the
region," said Klaus Bollmann, CEO and Chief Scientist, Ringdale. "The agreement
benefits both companies and provides us with immediate access to Japan's
multi-billion dollar, fast-growing market for energy-efficient LED lighting."
"After detailed market research in the US and Japan, we selected Ringdale's
ActiveLED product line," said Kazunori Obata, President, Sojitz Systems
Corporation. "ActiveLED luminaires use less energy, operate cooler, last longer
and depreciate significantly less over time. This gives our ActiveLED-based
product line a distinct market advantage."
"The partnership is a perfect fit," according to Stephen Maysonave, technology
consultant at Ringdale. "Ringdale has designed a premiere line of commercial LED
lighting fixtures and Sojitz has a focus on quality and complete access to the
Japanese market."
Ringdale developed the ActiveLED lighting fixtures to meet the stringent
requirements of enterprise customers who are focused on replacing older,
inefficient lighting sources or outfitting new construction projects with energy
efficient, longer-lasting, low- or no-maintenance LED-based fixtures.
