 Profit increase for Metalrax Group in first four months
 
 
 The annual report presented to the meeting highlighted the
 achievement of record sales figures.  Mr Eric Moore, chairman,
 said "Shareholders will be pleased to know that sales have
 continued to run at record levels.
 
 "During the first four months of 2002 group pre-tax profit has
 shown a significant increase compared with the equivalent
 period last year.
 
 "Our healthy cash resources provide scope for further
 opportunities to expand capacity by pursuing new business and
 product development, alongside the selective acquisition of
 compatible companies.
 
 "Orders on hand remain at satisfactory levels, and subject to
 the stability of global economic conditions , we are looking to
 the future with cautious optimism".
