                   Appointment of New Group Finance Director


Metalrax Group PLC today announces the appointment of William Kelly FCA as Group
Finance Director and Company Secretary with immediate effect.

William (Bill), aged 46, has over 27 years experience in the Finance sector.
Following his training at BDO Stoy Hayward, he moved to KPMG Birmingham in 1983
where, he gained significant experience in M&A transactions. Through his
involvement in a number of complex corporate deals across a number of different
industries, he has built up an excellent working knowledge from a commercial,
finance and treasury aspect.

Following his role at KPMG, Bill was appointed as Group Finance Director and
Company Secretary at James Beattie PLC in 1998. He was responsible for all
aspects of financial performance and managing investor relations and external
relationships with the company's advisers.

Mr Kelly is married with two children and lives in Wolverhampton. He enjoys golf
and gardening and is also a lifelong supporter of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Commenting on Mr Kelly's appointment, John Crabtree, Chairman of Metalrax said:-

am confident that he has the additional skills to assist with the on-going
development of our future strategic plans."

There are no further details required to be disclosed about the new director
under rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules issued by the Financial Services
Authority. At the date of appointment Mr Kelly does not hold shares in Metalrax
Group PLC.
