                             Main Board Appointment

The Board of Metalrax is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Pearson
as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2006.

Andrew, aged 47 has extensive experience having spent 27 years in the accounting
profession. He obtained his First Class BSc. Honours in Business Studies at the
University of Bradford in 1978.

Following his graduation, he joined KPMG and was promoted to Partner in 1990.
During this period, he assisted in the change of KPMG's focus away from a
traditional regional partnership towards a more industry orientated structure.
During the last seven years, Andrew has led KPMG's Transaction Services business
in the Midlands and was involved in nearly 100 corporate and private equity
transactions.

Commenting on the appointment, Richard Arbuthnot, Chief Executive, Metalrax
Group said:

"We welcome Andrew to the Company and look forward to benefiting from his wise
counsel.

"Andrew clearly complements the present expertise of the Metalrax Board. He
brings strong advisory skills having worked in a consultancy role across a
number of industries both in the UK and overseas; including USA, Mainland
Europe, Mexico, Japan and China as well as extensive experience in finance, tax,
pensions and operational diligence and business modelling."

Andrew is married and lives with his family in Stourbridge, West Midlands. He is
a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants (England & Wales) and a
Member of The British Institute of Management.

There are no further details required to be disclosed about the new director
under rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules issued by the Financial Services
Authority.

At the date of appointment Mr Pearson does not hold shares in Metalrax Group
PLC.
