METALRAX GROUP PLC - BOARD APPOINTMENT

The company is pleased to announce the appointment yesterday (Tuesday, 6th
September 2005) of Hedley Brook-Carter as a main board executive director.

Mr Brook-Carter, aged 56, joined the group in 1988, was appointed sales and
marketing director of Metalrax Limited in 1990 and promoted to chief executive
in 1999.

Pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13.1 of the Listing Rules, the company advises that Mr
Brook-Carter does not have and has not previously had any other directorship in
any other publicly quoted company at any time in the previous five years, and
there are no details to be disclosed pursuant to paragraphs 9.6.13.2 to 9.6.13.6
of the Listing Rules.

At the date of appointment, Mr Brook-Carter held 52,694 shares in Metalrax Group
PLC.
