Appointment of new Chief Executive and of an additional
non-executive director

The Board of Mano River Resources Inc. ("Mano" or "Company") is
pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Tom Elder to the
position of President and CEO, replacing Mr Guy Pas who will
continue in his active role as co-chairman of the Company.

Dr Elder brings to the Company 34 years of experience,
successively with Cominco Limited, BP Minerals International,
RTZ Mining and Exploration and Carpathian Gold.  He ran
exploration programs in the UK, Spain, Italy, Portugal and
Greenland prior to his appointment as world-wide Exploration
Manager with BP Minerals, while with RTZ he was closely involved
with the Former Soviet Union.  He will bring this valuable
experience to Mano as the Company's drill-testing of its
priority gold targets in Liberia gets under way.

Mano is further pleased to announce that Roger Haiat has joined
the Board as a non-executive director.  Mr Haiat is CEO of Quest
Mining Resources, overseeing its various holdings in mining
ventures world-wide.  Before founding Quest, which was one of
the founding shareholders of TSE-listed SAMAX Gold Inc., Mr
Haiat gained 25 years of experience at senior levels of the
metals trading industry, including being President and a
Principal in Guinness Peat Group's metals trading subsidiary. 
The Company looks to him to bring to Mano his valuable
experience in precious metals financing and marketing, and in
the management of the Company's relationships with African gold
and diamond producing co-operatives.

Mano's mission is to create shareholder value through the
identification exploration and development of high quality
mineral deposits in the west African Mano River Union countries
of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.  Exploration resources will
be targeted at:

-  delineating one of more open-pittable deposits, each containing
   in excess of one million ounces of recoverable gold with cash
   operating cost of less than USD$150 per ounce.

-  identifying one or more diamondiferous kimberlites within the
   Company's permits in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Strategic partners will be brought in as and when appropriate,
to participate in the development of Mano's properties.

Furthermore, so as to maximise on opportunities for near term
cash flow, the Company intends to enter into mutually beneficial
joint ventures with co-operatives of local artisanal miners
currently working on or near its concessions, to enhance and
improve the production and export of artisanal gold and diamonds.
