              Authority to buy back own shares
                              
Lopex announces that at the Company's Annual General Meeting
to be held on Monday, 18 May 1998 a special resolution will
be proposed to give the Company authority to purchase up to
a maximum of 10 per cent. of its issued ordinary share
capital by way of market purchases.
