Insurer Will Use Kofax Communication Server to
Better Prepare for Potential Massive Claims Surges Following
Natural Disasters
Kofax® Limited (NASDAQ: KFX)(LSE: KFX), a leading provider
of smart process applications for the business critical First
MileTM of customer interactions, today announced that a major U.S.
insurance company has invested more than $700,000 in Kofax software
and services to process potentially massive volumes of property and
casualty claims that could arise as a result of natural
disasters.
The company is using Kofax Communication Server to dramatically
expand its property and casualty claims processing capacity to
handle 150 gigabytes of data per hour. This expansion enables the
automated processing of approximately 40,000 incoming faxes and
emails with attachments containing claim documents per hour. Kofax
Communication Server will manage and sort incoming faxes and emails
with supporting documents, route the information to appropriate
claim folders without the need for manual intervention and notify
claim processors that the information is ready to view.
“Because natural disasters are unpredictable and on the rise,
this insurer has taken preemptive measures to ensure it can handle
a massive influx of claims with utmost speed, efficiency and
accuracy when their customers need it most,” said Howard Dratler,
Executive Vice President of Field Operations at Kofax. “After
evaluating a wide range of solutions, this insurer recognized that
Kofax Communication Server was the only solution that would give it
the scalability, performance and control needed to manage an
incredibly high volume of claims received during short periods of
time.”
The sale was comprised of approximately $400,000 of software
licenses, $250,000 in professional services and $70,000 in
maintenance and closed and delivered during the quarter ended
December 31, 2013.
