AIM RELEASE

KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY NL (the Company) (AIM: KDC)

The Company hereby advises that in accordance with the requirements of the
Australian Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) it has today lodged a copy of its
Target's Statement in relation to the off-market takeover bid for all the
shares in the Company by Gem Diamonds Australia Pty Limited with the Australian
Securities & Investments Commission and ASX Limited.  The Company commenced
dispatch of the Target's Statement to shareholders in the Company today.

A copy of the Target's Statement, which reflects the previously announced
recommendation from the directors of the Company for shareholders to accept the
bid, can be found on the Company's website www.kimberleydiamondco.com.au.
