Plant (vs March Quarter) despite down-time associated with current

Further to its March 2007 Quarterly Report, Kimberley Diamond Company NL (ASX:
KIM; AIM: KDC - Kimberley) is pleased to advise that production throughput at
the Ellendale Diamond Project has continued to increase strongly during the
month of April. Latest production statistics indicate in excess of a 30%
increase over March quarter in annualised throughput to approaching 7 million
per annum.

Production throughput for the month of April increased strongly across all
three of Kimberley's treatment plants - particularly for the Ellendale 9 East
Plant. This is a pleasing result given the tonnes at this plant had two days of
operational down-time due to enhancements associated with completion of the
current production ramp-up.

Total production throughput across the three plants exceeded 20,000 tonnes per
day on 15 April, equating to annualised throughput of over 7 million tonnes per
annum (mtpa).

At this rate carat production should continue to exceed 40,000 carats recovered
per month.

The encouraging performance highlights the continued progress towards achieving
key production throughput targets for each plant (3.3mtpa for the East Plant,
0.6mtpa for the West Plant and 4.4mtpa for the South Plant - or a combined
throughput of 8.3mtpa).

The rectification program for the Ellendale 9 East Plant is continuing and is
expected to be completed by the end of May 2007, notwithstanding delays to the
construction schedule arising from access issues via the Gibb River Road, as
reported in the March Quarterly Report. Concrete foundations for the
re-installation of the refurbished scrubbers have been poured in recent days
with the scrubbers to be installed in coming weeks.

Kimberley's Executive Chairman, Mr Miles Kennedy, said the April production
figures reflected an encouraging uplift in throughput, particularly at the
Ellendale 9 East Plant, with a corresponding expected positive flow-through
effect on operating costs.

"Every million tonnes in production throughput above 5mtpa equates to a
reduction of approximately A$1/tonne in unit operating costs," Mr Kennedy said.
"The positive trend seen during the month of April - with annualised production
reaching around 7 million tonnes per annum for the first time - is therefore a
significant milestone for the Company."

Kimberley reported in its March 2007 Quarterly that cash unit operating costs
were running at $13-14/tonne, with a medium term target of approximately $11/
tonne once the current expansion projects achieve steady state production.
