Jarvis plc ("the Company") reports that it has been notified by Artemis
Investment Management Limited in correspondence dated 17 August 2007
incorporating a copy of a TR-1 Notifications of Major Interests in Shares, that
following transactions on 16 August 2007 Artemis Investment Management Limited,
and certain of its investment clients, have a notifiable interest in the voting
rights over 32,817,730 ordinary shares in the Company representing 16.05% of the
voting rights in, and the issued share capital of, the Company.

The interests and beneficial holders notified by Artemis Investment Management
Limited were as follows:

-          Artemis Special Situations: 16,539,778 shares representing 8.09%
-          Akzo Nobel Pension Scheme: 2,095,690 shares representing 1.02%
