                      LOADING OF LATERITE ORE RE-COMMENCES

Berong Nickel Corporation, in which the Company has an 18.7% interest, has
advised that it has resumed the loading of nickel laterite ore for its first
shipment to China as previously announced.  This follows the lifting of a 72
hour Temporary Restraining Order placed on the company, the application for
which was dismissed by the Court.


The coastal stockpiles currently hold some 80,000 wet metric tons of ore, ready
for shipment.  The first shipment will be around 45,000 wet metric tons and
preparations are well underway for the second shipment.
