Change in Directors and Update
HandMade plc (AIM: HMF) announces that Robert Benton has been appointed as
non-executive chairman of the Company. In addition, Richard Northcott has
stepped down from his position as chairman and director of the Company with
immediate effect.
HandMade continues with the detailed review of its financial position and the
Company will provide an update to the market in due course.
Mr Benton is Managing Director of Benton Media Limited which is a company
consulting and investing in media content. Until recently, he was a managing
director and head of media at Canaccord Adams Limited. He is also chairman of
Clarksons plc. Until January 2008, he served as executive chairman of Talent
Group Plc, an independent television company. Previously, he was chief executive
of Ingenious Media Plc, prior to which he was chairman of Bridgewell Group plc,
which was founded in 2002 and floated on AIM in 2007.
Mr Benton was previously chairman and chief executive of Charterhouse
Securities, global head of sales at ABN Amro and managing director of HSBC James
Capel, before becoming CEO of the company at the age of 34.
Save as set out above and in the Appendix to this release, there is no
information in relation to the new appointment required pursuant to Schedule 2
paragraph (g) of the AIM rules for Companies.
