                        Achievement of 90% acceptances for RBK&C

HACAS Group plc ("HACAS") announces that on 20 October 1998, acceptances  were
received  in  respect of 90.1% of the Royal Borough of Kensington and  Chelsea
Assured  Homes PLC ("RBK&C") ordinary shares that were offered for on 17  July
1998.

Accordingly  429(4)  notices were today sent out to  all  non-accepting  RBK&C
shareholders.
