    CALGARY, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. ("FCP" or the
"Company") announces that on December 11 it was advised that Wellington
Management Company, LLP increased its holdings in the common shares of the
Company for the period ended November 30, 2007 to 26,003,400 (10.2%) common
shares of the Company.

    FCP is an oil and gas exploration company actively engaged in
international exploration and development activities in Algeria. The Company's
common shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canada (FCP) and on the
AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in the UK (FPL).
