FBD Holdings plc ("FBD") received a notification on 20th December, 2005, that
Bank of Ireland Asset Management Limited had on 19th December, 2005 a notifiable
interest of  2,569,938 ordinary shares in the capital of FBD representing 6.75
per cent of its issued share capital (exclusive of treasury shares). The shares
are held on behalf of a range of clients who are each the beneficial owner of a
portion of the shareholding. A breakdown of this interest between registered
