Ensor  Holdings  PLC,  the building materials and associated  products  Group,
recently announced that Mr Anthony Coyne had been appointed as Chief Executive
and that Mr Ken Harrison would continue as Chairman.

Following a strategic review of the business, the Board has decided  to  close
the  foundry  business and some of its concrete manufacturing  activity.   The
Directors  believe  that  the  exceptional  termination  and  trading   losses
associated with these businesses will lead to an overall small loss before tax
for the year ending 31 March 2000.

The  Directors believe that the operating results of the remaining  businesses
of  Ensor,  despite the difficult trading conditions, will show an improvement
in  the  year to 31 March 2000 and that this decisive action will  enable  the
Group to move forward into the new financial year on a strong basis and should
not affect the dividend policy.
