DAGENHAM MOTORS GROUP PLC ("Dagenham" or the "Company")

Response to Statement by Ford Motor Company Limited ("Ford") and Jardine
Motors Group PLC ("Jardine")

The Board of Dagenham notes the announcement made earlier today by Ford and
Jardine that they have reached agreement in principle for the establishment of
a motor retailing joint venture in the United Kingdom and that one option
under consideration is a possible offer by that joint venture for Dagenham.

The Board of Dagenham has not been approached by either Ford or Jardine with
respect to a possible offer for the Company and, accordingly, no talks have
taken place.

A further announcement will be made as and when appropriate.
