Potential Investment in Clipper Windpower Plc 
 
 
London (UK), Carpinteria, CA (USA) - September 30, 2009.The Directors of Clipper 
Windpower Plc ("Clipper" or "the Company") announced that the Company, as a 
result of a comprehensive capital raising process, has initiated discussions and 
received approaches from a number of parties comprising both industrial 
multinationals and financial investors that could lead to a significant 
investment in the Company. Subject to the size and structure of any transaction, 
it is expected that Clipper's new partner could range from owning a substantial 
minority position, investing at or around the current market price, to acquiring 
all of Clipper's outstanding share capital. These competitive discussions are at 
an advanced stage and it is anticipated that an investment could be announced 
and completed before the Company's financial year end. Any investment would be 
subject to shareholder approval. Despite the current advanced status of the 
discussions, there can be no certainty as to terms or structure, or that an 
investment will happen.

partners. We believe that the potential partners offer synergies and the 
appropriate support to enhance Clipper's position as it seeks to capture the 
substantial opportunities available through the anticipated growth in the 
U.S. and offshore wind markets over the coming years," commented Doug Pertz,
