Catalytic Solutions, Inc.
(The "Company")
product verIfication For catalytic solutions' ECS purifilter plus(TM)
Catalytic Solutions, Inc. (AIM: CTS and CTSU), the company behind Mixed Phase
Catalyst (MPC ) technology, is pleased to announce that its heavy-duty diesel
systems business through its wholly owned subsidiary, Engine Control Systems,
has received verification from the State of California's Air Resources Board
(ARB) for its innovative Purifilter Plus(TM) emissions product.
Catalytic Solutions' ECS Purifilter Plus(TM) has been verified as a Level 3 Plus
device for use in a wide variety of 1993-2006 heavy-duty diesel on-road engines,
reducing emissions of diesel particulate matter by more than 85 percent and
meeting nitrogen dioxide limitations. The ECS Purifilter Plus(TM) is the first
ARB verified hybrid diesel particulate filter to combine a passive ECS
Purifilter(TM) with the active regeneration components of an ECS
Combifilter(TM). The combined result is a hybrid diesel particulate filter
which has no minimum exhaust temperature requirement and is easily maintained
through active regeneration by periodically plugging the system into a 240V,
single-phase or 480V three-phase regeneration control panel that may be shared
between several vehicles. This approach greatly reduces the amount of labour and
infrastructure requirements when compared with non-regeneration solutions.
Purifilter Plus(TM) is ideal for a wide variety of small and large fleet
operators such as school, shuttle and urban buses, municipal and utility
vehicles, refuse trucks and urban delivery vehicles. Users can choose to employ
a pro-active scheduled plug-in interval determined for their specific
application, or plug the vehicle in reactively upon illumination of an indicator
light. Purifilter Plus(TM) is applicable to vehicles with variable or cold duty
cycle operation as well as high demand vehicles where users want to ensure
vehicle up-time and minimize the labour relating to removal of a passive diesel
particulate filter which exhibits high exhaust restriction.
Commenting on the verification, Ed Richards, President of Catalytic Solutions,
Inc.'s heavy-duty diesel systems business, said:
"This verification marks a very important achievement for Catalytic Solutions in
addition to substantially improving cost efficiency for our customers. It
further exemplifies our dedication to providing exceptional quality
and high-performance products that meet and exceed our customers' needs."
Charles F. Call, Chief Executive Officer of Catalytic Solutions, Inc. added:
"We are extremely pleased with the advances that our heavy-duty diesel systems
business has made within the growing retrofit market. Together with our other
business we remain committed to designing and delivering high value emissions
control products while benefiting the global environment through air quality
improvement, sustainability and energy efficiency."
