conditional product verIfication FOR CATALYTIC SOLUTIONS' ECS PURIFILTER(TM)

Catalytic Solutions, Inc. (AIM: CTS and CTSU), the company behind Mixed Phase
Catalyst (MPC ) technology, is pleased to announce that its heavy-duty diesel
systems business through its wholly owned subsidiary, Engine Control Systems,
has received a conditional product verification from the State of California's
Air Resources Board (ARB) for one of its key off-road emissions products.

Catalytic Solutions' ECS Purifilter(TM) H has been conditionally verified as a
Level 3 Plus device available for a wide-range of 1996-2008 heavy-duty diesel
off-road engines. The California ARB issued a conditional verification, which
is equivalent to full verification for purposes of satisfying the requirements
of existing emission control regulations and is valid for three years, during
which time the Company expects to receive full verification by providing any
remaining or additional requirements as requested by the ARB. A Level 3 Plus
classification applies to devices reducing emissions of diesel particulate
matter by at least 85 percent.

The ECS Purifilter(TM) H, now verified for both off-road and on-road heavy-duty
diesel engines, meets new ARB and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
regulations, which came into effect on 1 January 2009 and require that all
verified diesel retrofits sold and installed must comply with reduced nitrogen
dioxide emissions limits. The ECS Purifilter(TM) H is also compliant with
regulations approved by the California ARB to reduce toxic particulate matter
emissions under the Diesel Risk Reduction Program, which in part sets out to
reduce particulate matter emissions in California by 75 percent by the year
2010.

Commenting on the conditional verification, Ed Richards, President of Catalytic
Solutions, Inc.'s heavy-duty diesel systems business, said:
"We are delighted to have received this very important verification. Offering
cost effective, superior-quality and high-performance solutions that meet
increasingly stringent ARB and EPA regulations is of the utmost importance to
our customers and is essential for our business."
Charles F. Call, Chief Executive Officer of Catalytic Solutions, Inc. added:
"This is yet another example of our strong experience and leadership in the
heavy-duty diesel retrofit market. Together with our energy systems and
light-duty vehicle/heavy-duty diesel catalyst business', we remain well
positioned to address existing and future legislative and regulatory
requirements while benefiting the global environment."
