in accordance with revised UK accounting standards.

Charter European Trust PLC announces that at close of business on 22 January
2008:

1)   the capital net asset value per ordinary share was 235.14p and

2)   based on the number of shares held in treasury, the net asset value per
ordinary share was 233.85p.
