                                 Re: Contract

Cammell Laird Holdings PLC ("Cammell Laird") the international marine services
company, announced today that it has received notification of an application
for arbitration from its customer Costa Crociere in relation to its contract
for the conversion of the cruise ship "Costa Classica".

The arbitrator has been requested to determine the legality of whether Costa
Crociere has the right to postpone delivery of the vessel and/or terminate the
contract. Cammell Laird has taken legal advice concerning its contractual
position and considers there are no such rights.

The practical implication of the notification is that Costa Crociere wish to
delay the delivery of the vessel until arbitration has been completed. It is
unclear how long this process will take.

Meanwhile, Cammell Laird intends to launch the new mid-body section as
scheduled on Sunday 26 November.

The company will make further announcements regarding this contract as and
when appropriate.
