CMG plc acquires German IT services company based in
Hamburg
CMG plc, the European IT services Group, announces that
it acquired on 19 February 1999 100% of Partner Consult
Beratungsgesellschaft fur Information und Organisation
mbH (Partner Consult), an IT consultancy and systems
development company operating from offices in Hamburg
and Hannover. Partner Consult addresses applications in
the industry, transport, banking and insurance markets
with particular expertise in social insurance, SAP and
Baan implementation and systems development using
advanced technology.
Partner Consult, which was founded in 1972, has an
established reputation and high quality client list,
many of whom have retained the company's services for
many years. The company currently has a total workforce
of 120 employees and additionally employs 55
contractors. In the fiscal year ended 30 September
1998, it had a turnover of 31.2 million DM (#10.7
million) and a profit before tax of 1.98 million DM
(#0.7 million). The total consideration is 23.9 million
DM (#8.2 million), to be paid in cash. The company is
expected to make a positive contribution to CMG's
earnings before goodwill amortisation in 1999.
The management and employees of Partner Consult remain
with the company and, in combination with CMG's existing
Hamburg office personnel, create a strong presence in
the Hamburg-Hannover business community. CMG Country
Chairman for Germany, Bernd Lantermann, commented:

move for CMG's progress in Germany because it makes
us a strong player in the key Northern industrial
and business area. The company is a good fit, being
successful in sectors where we can leverage CMG's
wider experience and having longstanding
relationships with leading companies in the area,
most of whom have not previously been CMG customers.

CMG's results for the year to 31 December 1998 will be
announced on 8 March.
