CMG and Telenor introduce the World's First
High Performance Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC)

CMG plc announced today that Telenor of Norway, recognised as one of the most
innovative mobile telecommunications operators in the world, has purchased
CMG's Multimedia Messaging solution, the world's first high performance
Multimedia Message Service Centre (MMSC). The MMSC is a key element in CMG's
product strategy for extending its market leadership in wireless data solutions
into next generation mobile networks and services. Delivery of the MMSC is
scheduled for the third quarter of 2001 and will comprise test and commercial
MMSCs, as well as CMG's MMS user agent, the core communicating software to be
used in advanced mobile devices.

Geert Kolthof, Vice President Mobile Internet at CMG Wireless Data Solutions,
commented:

"With this step, Telenor opens the long awaited bridge between today's plain
text messaging to the 3G multimedia messaging environment of tomorrow. The
stage is now set for the mobile industry to extend the Short Message Service
(SMS) success of today into even more lucrative 2-way, full colour, multimedia
messaging.

"Our relationship with Telenor goes back to 1990 and in 1992 we developed and
sold the first SMSC to the company. Since then, both our relationship and our
SMS product - currently rated at 8,000 messages per second - have grown. We are
proud to have been chosen yet again to be part of this pioneer's strategic
plans, and we are confident that our solution will play a key role in
fulfilling them.

"The bottom line is that CMG provides a proven end to end messaging solution
that allows operators and Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) to achieve
their aggressive growth targets. Together with Telenor we will bring the mobile
data revolution to the world.

Background and product description

Europe has been a major driving force behind the phenomenal success of SMS.
Telenor claims the highest number of SMS messages per subscriber in Europe.
From early on they have been users of the CMG top-of-the-range High Performance
SMS messaging solution. Other well known operators and MVNOs in the world that
use the CMG messaging solution include Telefonica, Vodafone D2, T-Mobil, France
Telecom, SFR, One2One, Virgin, KPN, Globe Telecom, Mobile One, Celcom,
Telkomsel, Telet and many others. The CMG messaging solution provides operators
with between 4 and 40% of their total revenue and thus provides an effective
way of battling falling voice ARPU (Average Revenue Per User). Currently 7 out
of the 10 largest and most successful GSM operators use the CMG messaging
solution.

The worlds fastest MMSC

CMG has already announced the world's fastest SMSC with 8,000 messages per
second on a single platform. The predicted explosion in MMS message volume and
size will place enormous capacity demands on message processing facilities. In
addition, the introduction of MMS-related value-added services is expected to
further increase performance requirements. Quality of service will remain key
in fast growth markets as prepaid, interactive and premium services are
intolerant to any delays in message delivery. Consequently, demand for
resilient, proven high-capacity multimedia centres is expected to increase as
the MMS business grows and profitability increases.

Business critical design

The CMG High performance MMSC is based on truly open standards and comes with a
flexible architecture, allowing operators to configure it to meet their
capacity, performance, reliability and budgetary requirements. This
scalability, combined with advanced network management and control features,
reduces investment and operational costs, as well as offering low
cost-of-ownership. CMG's business critical design philosophy caters for
integration of any brand of best-of breed components allowing full flexibility
for growth. The same unique approach made CMG a market-leader with SMS in
markets where most revenues are generated.

Legacy support

Furthermore, CMG's MMSC supports legacy SMS handsets and this will increase the
uptake and acceptance of MMS in its early stages as 100% of subscribers can
experience multimedia instantly.

Proven ability and track-record

Telenor selected CMG's MMSC solution because of its track record and proven
expertise in high-performance messaging systems.

Total value proposition

CMG offers a total MMS solution. In addition to its core product, the MMSC, and
a suite of superior MMS applications, CMG offers related business critical
systems, such as the Wireless Service Brokera , Payment Broker with real-time
Prepaid Billing System and unrivalled Business Tools for real-time traffic
analysis (OLAP). Its services include full system integration and 7x24 support.
