CLIPPER VENTURES ANNOUNCES LANDMARK Euro1.5M (#1.05M)

5-OCEANS DEAL WITH CITY OF BILBAO



Clipper Ventures plc has awarded the Spanish City of Bilbao the rights to host
the start and finish of the professional, single-handed 5-Oceans round the world
yacht race 2006/07. The City of Bilbao and the Diputacion Foral de Bizkaia have
committed to Euro1.5m (#1.05m) for the rights to host the race - comprising Euro0.75m
cash and a Euro0.75m contribution to the costs of the 5-Oceans race.



William Ward, Chief Executive of Clipper Ventures plc, owners of the rights to
this event said, "Today's announcement further demonstrates the ability of
Clipper Ventures to secure significant sponsorship deals through its global
sports marketing strategy. In this manner the company is able to maximise the
value of all the events across its portfolio."



The 5-Oceans Race has already contracted an investment of #265k from the
Government of Western Australia for Fremantle to have the hosting rights for the
first stopover of the five-month race.



GlobalSportsnet (GSN), a WPP owned sports marketing company, have been appointed
as commercial partner to market and promote the next two 5-Oceans races, and are
currently negotiating title sponsorship rights for the 2006 race. GSN will be
responsible for signing sponsors and will be using pioneering broadband TV
coverage over the internet and distributing documentary style programming to
further increase the profile and media value of this already prestigious event.
