                                SHARE PLACING



Clipper Ventures PLC ("Clipper Ventures"), the AIM quoted yacht racing, marine
events, hospitality and training company, announces that it has raised #
500,000 through the placing of 943,396 new ordinary shares at 53 pence per
share.  The proceeds of the placing will be used to provide additional working
capital, reduce borrowings and assist in giving the company the resources to
further develop its core activities.



Application is being made for these shares to be admitted to trading on AIM
and dealings are expected to commence on 31 January 2001.



Following the placing, Clipper Ventures is aware of the following changes to
significant shareholdings:
