Race Update

Clipper Ventures PLC (Ticker CLV; the "Company"), the AIM quoted ocean racing
company announce that o n the 5th February, whilst the Clipper Round The World
Race was en-route to Qingdao from Singapore one of the yachts reported a
problem caused by suspected movement of its keel bolts. A check on other boats
in the fleet indicated some similar but less serious issues. As a safety
precaution the fleet of ten boats was diverted to the Philippines.

A survey shows the necessary remedial work required on the fleet and this is
now being scheduled and the necessary work assessed .

This will inevitably cause some disruption to the race schedule, and currently
is scheduling a soft restart of 8 March. It should be borne in mind that as
with the previous Clipper Round The World Races, the race plan allows for the
inevitable delays that occur in respect of a race of this nature.

As soon as the firm timescale and cost for the remedial work is known and the
subsequent effects to the Company, which the Directors currently believe will
not be significant, a further announcement will be made.
