Chaarat Gold - Fatal Incident at Kapan Mine

Chaarat Gold (AIM: CGH), the AIM-quoted gold mining Company with an operating mine in Armenia, and assets at various stages of development in the Kyrgyz Republic, regrets to report a fatal incident involving an employee following injuries sustained at the Kapan mining operation on 3(rd) September 2022.

The area where the incident occurred was closed immediately and an internal investigation is underway. Chaarat is also working with the authorities to facilitate their investigation of this tragic incident.

Following a safety stop, mining operations are continuing in all other areas. Production guidance for the year from the Kapan mine remains unaffected .

Mike Fraser, Chief Executive Officer of Chaarat, said:

We believe all injuries are preventable, and a serious injury resulting in a fatality is particularly concerning.
