Country Gardens plc ("the Company") announces that 25,000 Ordinary Shares of
25p each have been issued following the exercise of share options by a former
Director.  These shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the
existing issued Ordinary Shares in the Company.  Application for Listing of
these shares has been made to the London Stock Exchange and it is expected
that dealings will commence on Monday 12 October 1998.
