                    CLOSE EUROPEAN ACCELERATED FUND LIMITED

Close European Accelerated Fund Limited announces that 3,550,000 Participating 
Shares have been issued pursuant to a placing at a price of 107.5 pence per 
share. The newly issued Participating Shares will rank pari passu with the 
existing Participating Shares with the result that the Company will have 
39,550,000 Participating Shares in issue.  The newly issued Participating Shares 
will be admitted to listing on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and 
to trading on the London Stock Exchange's market for listed securities at 8.00 
am on 21 September 2006.
