Capital Radio plc announces that following maturity of conditional awards
granted in November 1996 to Executive Directors under the Company's Long Term
Incentive Plan, the following shares have today been released to the individuals
listed below:

Name                     No. of Shares

David Mansfield          20,830
Richard Park             20,830

In accordance with the rules of the Plan, these shares were released from the
Company's Employee Share Ownership Trust without payment.  These shares comprise
100% of those conditionally awarded to the individuals in November 1996.

Following release of these shares, David Mansfield and Richard Park each own
24,957 shares in the Company.
