LETTER TO BOURNE END PROPERTIES PLC

Section 198 of the Companies Act - Disclosure

Please note that Credit Lyonnais Capital Markets Plc is a wholly owned
subsidiary of Credit Lyonnais (Investment) Limited that is itself a wholly
owned subsidiary of Credit Lyonnais SA.

This notice is given on behalf of all these companies as well as on behalf of
Credit Lyonnais Capital Markets Plc.

We hereby give notice pursuant to Section 198 of the Companies Act that Credit
Lyonnais Capital Markets Plc and its subsidiary company Credit Lyonnais
Securities had a material interest in 4,351,100 ordinary shares of 25 pence each
in Bourne End Properties Plc as at 25th October 1999.

Credit Lyonnais Securities have subsequently disposed of this interest in
ordinary shares of 25 pence each in Bourne End Properties Plc.

Consequently we hereby also given notice pursuant to Section 198 of the
Companies Act 1986 that Credit Lyonnais Capital Markets Plc and its subsidiary
company Credit Lyonnais Securities has ceased to have a notifiable interest in
the ordinary shares of 25 pence each in Bourne End Properties Plc.
