Barclays Capital, the investment banking arm of Barclays Bank PLC (BARC.LN), Tuesday said it has appointed Ivan Ferraroni as managing director and head of Asia Pacific foreign exchange bank sales.

Ivan, who will be based in Singapore, joins Barclays Capital from Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was head of foreign exchange sales and trading in Tokyo, Barclays Capital said in a statement.

Apart from Ivan, Barclays said it has also made other new appointments in the Asia Pacific foreign exchange team.

Eric Schatz, earlier Barclays Capital's head of real money foreign exchange sales for the Americas, has relocated from the firm's New York office to Tokyo to take on the newly- created role of head of foreign exchange for Japan.

Toshimasa Fujii has joined the firm in Tokyo as a director for foreign exchange sales. Prior to the appointment, he was head of Currenex's Japanese business, Barclays said.

Naomi Koyama, director for Merrill Lynch's foreign exchange sales in Japan will join Barclays Capital next month.

Gaurav Tholia has joined Barclays Capital in Singapore as vice-president in charge of foreign exchange derivatives sales to banks and private banks in Asia ex-Japan. He was earlier working with JP Morgan, the statement said. .
