            TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATING STATISTICS
              FOR THE QUARTER TO 31 DECEMBER 1997

The  Board of Atlantic Telecom Group PLC is pleased  to
announce   the  Group's  telecommunications   operating
statistics  for  the quarter ended  31  December  1997.
This  quarter has seen, once again, a record number  of
lines  installed  and pending installation  with  Group
lines above 23,000 at 31  December 1997.

The operating statistics are as follows:-

*  includes both direct and indirect installations and pending
installations.

In  the  nine  months ended 31 December 1997,  Atlantic
Telecommunications  Ltd  experienced  cumulative  churn
(disconnects) of 7.4% for business customers and  14.6%
for  residential customers averaged over the nine month
period.    Logicall  continues  to  experience  minimal
churn.

The  radio  access network continues to  be  developed.
Although,  as  planned, there was no new network  built
this quarter, the Company is well placed to expand  the
network into Greater Glasgow and Aberdeen during 1998.

Commenting   on  the  statistics,  Graham   J   Duncan,
Executive Chairman stated:

"This  quarter has again been an excellent one for  the
Group  and  we look forward to significantly  expanding
our network and operations during 1998."
