* Includes 654 lines connected in the Glasgow area
indirectly using BT lines and call routing boxes.

ATL continues to experience low churn with 94 lines
disconnected in the quarter, an annualised churn
rate of 14.7%. With number porting now in full
operation for Atlantic's target residential and
business customers, over 30% of residential
customers and over 70% of business customers have
ported their numbers.

The high level of demand experienced has resulted in capacity
constraints on certain operational base stations. The Group
is pleased to report that these constraints are now being
eliminated and will be fully resolved in the current quarter.
Further network build is therefore now in progress and it is
expected that the whole of Glasgow City (approximately 42 base
stations) will be complete and operational by 30th September
1997.

The Board is also pleased to announce that it will be
launching a service across Scotland. This will be an indirect
service using BT's network and the Group's own call routing
boxes following the issue of the appropriate licence last
month. The Group has experienced demand from areas where it
is currently unable to provide a directly connected service
and has decided to launch an indirect service which will give
customers the benefit of Scotland as a local calling area and
the ability to buy minutes of Scottish call time at fixed
rates (bundled minutes). Customers will also benefit from
Atlantic's competitive national and international rates.

Commenting today, Graham J Duncan, Executive Chairman said:

"The continued rise in the number of lines at a rate in excess
of our expectations is very encouraging. We are experiencing
demand from outside the area directly served by our radio
network and have therefore decided to establish a service
across Scotland which gives customers the benefit of our
unique pricing, although without the features of the directly
connected service. We are bringing more than just choice to
the market, we are also delivering innovation in our service
packages."
