                      ATLANTIC TELECOM GROUP CONCLUDES SALE OF ATLANTIC FRANCE

Atlantic Telecom Group ('Atlantic') announces today that it has concluded the
sale of its interests in France, Atlantic France, to Inmetex Holdings SAL.

Atlantic's interests in France were largely acquired through the Group's
acquisition of First Telecom last year. They include equipment, licences and
capacity on fibre networks for a rollout of DSL services in a number of urban
areas in France.

Under the terms of the deal, Atlantic becomes one of the three main
shareholders in Inmetex, acquiring a 28.5% stake (2,850 shares) in the holding
company, and will be represented on the Inmetex Board. Inmetex has agreed to
change the company's registered name (Atlantic Telecom SA) within the 90 day
transition period agreed between the companies.

Atlantic has 'pre-emption' rights within the contract, which allow Atlantic
first option on any future share sales by the other two partners in Inmetex.

Graham J Duncan, Executive Chairman of Atlantic said: "Earlier this month I
announced that we expected to have the sale of our business in France
concluded in the following weeks. I am delighted that we have reached an
agreement whereby the Atlantic Group can continue to benefit from the rollout
of DSL services in France, without a requirement for any additional funding."
