              Atlantic Telecom extends partnership with Vodafone              
                       
                                                                     
Atlantic  Telecom Group PLC ('Atlantic'), a leading  European broadband       
telecommunications provider, today announces  that it  has extended its       
partnership with Vodafone, the UK's most popular  mobile  phone operator.     
Vodafone  has  now  awarded Atlantic the contract  to  offer  a  total     
communications solution  to  Vodafone's UK business and consumer  customers.  
The  extended  partnership is expected to  produce  immediate benefits for    
Atlantic with greater traffic using its national network  as well as providing
the opportunity for significant revenue and gross profit enhancement.         
                                                                              
The  Vodafone-branded fixed line service will be provided  by Atlantic and    
will take advantage of the Group's state-of-the-art, national broadband fibre 
network and switching platforms as  well  as  its back office systems and     
support,  including billing.  This service is an extension of Atlantic's      
existing relationship with Vodafone, which previously existed  through an
indirect fixed line trial supplied by Atlantic's subsidiary First Telecom.    
                                                                 
                                                                              
The services will be marketed by Vodafone, under the Vodafone brand, and are
initially being offered  from  mid  October through  selected  Vodafone retail
stores in four regions throughout the country, as well as on-line at
www.vodafone.co.uk. The services are planned to be rolled out to  independent 
dealers and all Vodafone's retail outlets in the New Year.                    
                                            
                                                                              
Atlantic's Executive Chairman Graham J Duncan said  "Atlantic has always

and services, and today's announcement is further evidence of that ability.

customers for over 3 years and a fixed indirect access phone service has been
available to customers through our retail stores for the last two years.
