                 Atlantic goes live in Munich

Atlantic Telecom Group PLC, a leading European broadband telecoms provider,
announces the second phase of its pan-European DSL service has today gone live
in Munich.

The service, which will be provided through Atlantic's subsidiary,
first:telecom, will offer high speed Internet access to SMEs throughout the
Munich area via its ISP partners, Teamware, eXpressNet and IP & More. The
high-speed service is currently being demonstrated at Munich's Oktoberfest,
where Atlantic's system is being used to transmit coverage of the
event in real-time on the Internet.

Atlantic is one of the first companies to install symmetrical digital
subscriber line (SDSL) broadband technology in Germany. The technology allows
ordinary copper telephone wires to be used for broadband Internet access at
speeds up to 2.3Mbits/s, and the company intends to rapidly roll out its
service across the rest of its target markets in Germany. Frankfurt went live
in June 2000, and Berlin and Hamburg are scheduled to follow by the end of
this year.

Graham J Duncan, Executive Chairman, said:

"In June we reported our SDSL service was operational in Frankfurt, ahead of
schedule, and now we can say the same for Munich. We have already signed up
our first SME customer in Munich and expect many others to want to reap the
benefits offered by our high-speed, reliable and cost-effective Internet
access".
