                               Board Appointment



Further to the acquisition of Renewable Power Pte Ltd ("Renewable Power") in
November 2007, the Board of Alternative Energy Limited is pleased to announce
the appointment of Dr Eric Swee Ming Goh, a founder and sole shareholder of
Renewable Power, as a director of the Company with immediate effect.



Dr Eric Goh, aged 43, is an experienced research scientist and engineer and
holds a PhD in Business Management, Master of Science in Information Studies and
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical).



Christopher Nightingale, Chairman, states:  "We are delighted to welcome Dr Goh
to the Board.   He leads the Renewable Power scientific team acquired in
November, and will provide the Company with the capacity to assess the technical
viability of potential businesses in the alternative energy sectors."

There are no further details in relation to the above appointment which require
disclosure under paragraph (g) (iii) to (viii) of Schedule 2 to the AIM Rules.



Dr Eric Goh has an interest in 7,058,823 ordinary shares in the Company
representing approximately 0.6 per cent. of the Company's existing issued share
capital.
