                STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP FOR THIN-CLIENT COMPUTING


Cambridge, UK, 1 September 1998 -- Acorn Group today announced the next
phase in their strategic partnership with Boca Research (NASDAQ:BOCI), for
the development and distribution of thin-client computing devices. The
agreement is based on Acorn's new thin-client terminal reference design,
DeskLite. DeskLite provides full access to the range of Microsoft
applications and is specifically designed to support MetaFrame and WinFrame
thin-client/server software for Windows NT, from Citrix Systems, Inc.
(NASDAQ:CTXS)

Acorn and Boca are launching this exciting new product this week at the
Thinergy '98 conference in Orlando, Florida, on 1-3 September 1998, for the
North and South American markets. The Acorn/Boca strategic partnership is
further strengthened by this contract, which is based on projected revenues
estimated to be in excess of US$50million.

Commenting on the deal, Stan Boland, Acorn's CEO said, "Acorn has been
involved with thin-client solutions since we developed the first network
computer for Oracle in 1996. This exciting development with Boca allows us
to take the concept much further, and offers Acorn a significant share in
the future success of the DeskLite reference design, in the American
markets."

this new range of thin clients". Boca will use the DeskLite technology in
its ethernet-based WT 020 Vertical Desktop unit, which will ship in the
fourth quarter. Also, Boca will demonstrate other ICA models including the
dial-up version, the STB121, and its full-featured ethernet desktop the WT
120, at the Thinergy conference.
